Urban Summer

Pamela Barish

Stuck in the city this summer? Get some homegrown style inspiration! We're featuring crisp whites, in lovely lace, cotton, and linen. With shapes that skim curves in fabrics that breathe, all it takes is a little urban exploration to create a vacation in your neighborhood! The heat of the season inspired us to get outside and do a little adventuring... scroll down to see what we love about Venice Beach.

Venice is known for its free spirit. When we opened up our doors on Abbot Kinney back in 2003, it was filled with a diverse community of artists. Layering subversive details over the classic architecture of timeless fashion is our ultimate message. To see signs of those seemingly bygone days of grit, simply check out the skate park, the graffiti wall, or even the boardwalk. They are rife with the vitality of continued creative expression.

We have always valued style above trend, this is why we constantly reevaluate and update our classic shapes. While the details may change, the spirit of effortless elegance remains. Venice is constantly in flux. To see how it goes about its orderly chaos, check out some local spots like Rose Cafe, the new Erewhon, and Menotti's Coffee.

Venice, above all, is beautiful. From the prewar bungalows to the romantic canals, it is a verdant landscape filled with activity. The streets themselves are galleries, and open to everyone. We simply couldn't see ourselves designing anywhere else!

Venice Community: Plant Food + Wine

While we will always miss our beloved Axe, we are super excited to see the opening of Plant Food + Wine in the same space. Can't wait to try the vegan menu of cooked and raw foods, especially given the focus on locally sourced ingredients. Especially excited to get a taste of their house-made selection of vegan cheeses!

It's so lovely to have Matthew Kenny and chef Scott Winegard carry on the legacy of healthy sustainable food begun by Joanna Moore. Welcome to the neighborhood!
