Summer is my favorite season! Here are some pieces I've personally selected that are ideal for beating the heat in style.
The Bridget Dress is a superb dress for summer. It’s loose fitting, so it’s perfect on a sweltering day or over a bathing suit after a day at the beach or pool, but it’s a little bit sexy thanks to it’s broad neckline.
I have it in Creme, and wear it with my Clergerie raffia sandals and a basket I bought in Ibiza, which I use as a purse. Not only that, but I was wearing this dress when I bought the basket! It is made out of a silk noil, so it feels a little bit like a Moroccan homespun robe. Luxe bohemia!
The Tennessee Williams dress is a Pamela Barish classic! It’s a little sultry, and has a slight Southern flavor - very ‘Cat on a Hot Tin Roof’. It’s suitable for sipping a Mint Julep in Savannah, summer weddings, and anything requiring you to look chic day into night.
We usually make the dress in silk, but for Summer we have it in cotton - I wear it in white with flats in the day and heals at night. It suits a wide variety of body types, and it doesn’t go unnoticed!
The Slip Dress is as sexy as a basic can get. We make it in 2 ply silk, which makes it heavy enough not to see through, but keeps it light enough to wear at the height of Summer. It’s cut on the bias, so it has no structure and is all shape! The slip is very body conscious, and is for a very confident woman.
It is flawless day-to-night - pair it with flip flops for brunch at the beach, or with heels and a statement necklace for dinner. This is one of my personal favorites for daily dressing - I have this piece in 12 colors! I wear one of them at least once a week, and have even been known to layer them for a little pop of color.
Our cotton tee is archetypal! I love anchors (and really anything maritime), so we incorporated the stripes as a nod to that. Plus, we are at the beach, so it’s the perfect tee for our endless Summer here in Venice.
I wear this tee with everything! Wrap trousers, our Gingham skirt, beat up jeans…. from the most obvious to the least expected. We do the tee in new color combinations every season, and for Summer we did it in 3 colorways: Navy with Creme, Creme with Black, and Biscuit with Black. It feels very French to me, of course - I think I’ll get an anchor tattoo in Marseilles!
